ScaleLAB Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 2, 2026

Who we are

ScaleLAB is a sole proprietorship operated by Kelly Langford, based in Alberta, Canada. In this policy, “ScaleLAB,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to that business.

This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, protect, and retain personal information through scalelabconsulting.com, our course platform, booking process, enquiries, and consulting services. Our work includes education and consulting related to franchising, licensing, business readiness, operational systems, training, and ongoing support.

Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us. It may include:

  • Your name, email address, telephone number, business name, website, and location.
  • Messages, booking responses, and information you provide about your business, goals, or support needs.
  • Course account details, enrolment records, learning progress, and communications about course access.
  • Purchase and billing records, payment status, and transaction references. Payment providers process payment credentials through checkout. Please do not send card details by email or enquiry form.
  • Information you choose to share during an assessment or consulting engagement. Business documents may contain personal information about you or other people.
  • Technical information associated with website or platform use, such as IP address, device and browser details, pages visited, and security logs, where collected by the services we use.

Please share only information needed for the service. Where you provide information about another person, ensure you have authority to share it for the intended purpose.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to questions and determine how our services may fit your needs.
  • Arrange meetings and send booking confirmations or reminders.
  • Process purchases, administer course access, provide support, and maintain transaction records.
  • Deliver assessments and consulting work agreed with you.
  • Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our website and services.
  • Send marketing communications where we have the required consent or another lawful basis.
  • Meet legal obligations and address complaints or disputes.

We explain new purposes and obtain additional consent where required before using information for materially different purposes.

Consent and your choices

We collect, use, and disclose personal information with appropriate consent or as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law. We explain why information is requested so you can make an informed choice.

You may decline to provide information or withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. Some information is necessary to fulfil a purchase, provide course access, arrange a meeting, or deliver consulting services. We will explain any effect withdrawal may have on those services.

Booking a call or making an enquiry does not, by itself, subscribe you to unrelated marketing. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the message or by contacting us. You can stop marketing SMS by replying STOP or using the instructions in the message. Standard message and data rates may apply. We send marketing email and SMS only with the consent or other authority required by applicable law. Necessary purchase, account, security, and service communications may still be sent.

Service providers and disclosures

We use service providers to operate our business. Our current setup includes GoHighLevel and its associated course and customer management services, and Calendly for appointment booking. Checkout may involve payment providers identified during your purchase.

These providers may process information needed for their role, such as hosting, booking, payments, communications, customer records, or course delivery. We seek appropriate contractual and other protections for information processed on our behalf. Providers may also have their own privacy terms for services you use directly.

We may disclose information to professional advisers where needed for an agreed engagement and with appropriate authority, or where disclosure is required or permitted by law. We may also disclose information to respond to lawful requests, protect against fraud or security threats, or establish or defend legal rights.

Processing outside Canada

Our service providers may store or process information outside your province or outside Canada. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to its laws and lawful access by authorities. Contact us for information about our service providers and processing practices.

Cookies and tracking

Our website and connected platforms may use cookies or similar technologies for functions such as account access, security, preferences, and service delivery. Your browser and, where available, the platform’s privacy controls allow you to manage cookies. Restricting some cookies can affect functionality.

We use GoHighLevel for marketing email and SMS. We do not currently use Google Analytics or Meta Pixel. GoHighLevel and connected services may use technical information, cookies, or similar technologies to operate their services and measure communication delivery and engagement, depending on the settings enabled.

We do not assume that analytics information is anonymous merely because it is collected through cookies. Where optional tracking requires consent, it should not operate until the required consent is obtained.

Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including service delivery, accounting, legal obligations, and resolving disputes. Retention periods vary by record type. When information is no longer required, we take steps to delete it, anonymise it, or dispose of it securely, subject to applicable requirements and routine backup processes.

Safeguards

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Access should be limited to people and providers who need it for their responsibilities. No online system or method of transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Access, corrections, and complaints

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information we hold about you, ask for corrections, withdraw consent, or raise a privacy concern. Contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before responding and will explain any lawful limitations on a request.

If a concern is not resolved, you may contact the privacy regulator with jurisdiction over the matter.

Other websites and platforms

Links to Calendly, checkout, social media, and other websites may take you to services with separate privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information. This policy explains ScaleLAB’s practices; it does not replace those providers’ policies.

Children

Our services are designed for adult business owners. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as our services or practices change. We will post the revised policy with its effective date and provide additional notice or seek consent where required.
